About Dr. John Michael Falligant
John Michael Falligant, Ph.D., BCBA-D, is a licensed child clinical psychologist and board-certified behavior analyst based in Auburn, Alabama. He serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Auburn University, where his research focuses on understanding and improving challenging behavior in individuals with developmental and behavioral differences.
Before joining Auburn, Dr. Falligant was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a Senior Behavior Analyst and Supervising Psychologist on the Neurobehavioral Inpatient Unit at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, a specialty unit serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who exhibit severe and treatment-resistant problem behavior.
His work is supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and has been recognized with the 2025 B.F. Skinner Award from the American Psychological Association for contributions to the scientific understanding and treatment of behavior problems in children and adolescents. Through Yellowhammer Behavioral Consulting, Dr. Falligant brings this expertise to schools and families, offering practical, data-driven approaches to assessment, intervention, and consultation. His work blends scientific precision with a deep commitment to helping individuals succeed in their everyday environments.
